| Traffic | Placer Hills Rd - traffic usually builds up in downtown and into Sierra Hills School in the morning 7:30-8:15am and in the afternoon when school lets out and people pick up their kids. School Bus Rules - Remember to stop when red lights are flashing. Interstate-80 - traffic usually occurs on Fridays when people are headed up I-80 East for weekend Travel and then on Sundays in the afternoon. California Highway Patrol LOVES to hang out at the Meadow Vista/Clipper Gap Onramp and catch speeders on radar as they head to Sacramento. Obey the speed limit, hands-free and seatbelt laws. Highway 49 - can be miserable going both directions during rush hour times through Auburn. Best bet is to take alternate routes or travel at different times. |

Meadow Vista is located in the northern California foothills, about 45 minutes from Sacramento up Interstate 80. Low enough for a dusting of snow and just out of reach of the valley fog, this beautiful community is nestled among pine trees, meadows, Wooly Creek, an offshoot of the Bear River, and Lake Combie. Towns near Meadow Vista include Applegate, Weimar, Colfax, Auburn with larger metropolitan areas like Rocklin, Roseville and Sacramento just down the freeway. |

| May We Recommend... |
| As residents of the area for over 20 years, we have our favorite spots to dine, shop and things you just have to do in Meadow Vista and nearby Auburn since our little town doesn't quite have all of the necessities! |
| Best Fast Food Burger |
In N' Out: As original Southern Californians we first fell in love with In n' Out Burger in it's original form. Thankfully in the mid 90's the family owned chain made it's way up I-80. This is a BUSY restaurant so be prepared during peak hours to encounter lines (although usually fast moving). |
| Best Burger |
Brookside Grill: This was unanimously agreed upon. Mike makes huge, flavorful burgers that stand out from the rest with their seasoning. The mushroom swiss burger is a favorite along with the spicy peanut coleslaw. They also make monster salads and other sandwiches. Prices run around $12 but you get your money's worth and enough for the doggy bag. |
| Ice Cream |
Tango: Serve and top it yourself for just the right amount of dessert. The flavors run from mouth-watering to too tart but they have a great selection of toppings. Can't beat the price or the perfect decor. |
| Mongolian BBQ |
Sums: Granted they are the only Mongolian BBQ in Auburn - they are the best! We've tried places from Sacramento to Chico and Sum's is number one. It's all about their custom made thick noodles. You get soup, appetizer and soft serve ice cream with your meal. Yum! |
| Grocery Store |
Holiday Foods: Great selection of produce and favorite items even if it's the only place in town. They have a points system that allows you 10% after you aquire 1000 points. They also have a good meat selection and a variety of organic foods. |
| Mexican Food |
Tio Pepe: Family owned and operated, they serve authentic Mexican food and can customize to your needs. We ordered a custom dish enough times, they actually added it to the menu! |
